The Customer
A property owner with a palisade fence that had been exposed to the elements for years, resulting in severe rust damage and a visibly deteriorated finish. The goal was to restore both appearance and structural integrity with a solution that would last.
The Challenge
The fence showed extensive corrosion, flaking paint and surface degradation. Left untreated, the rust would continue to spread, compromising both the look and lifespan of the structure. The challenge was not just to repaint but to properly treat and stabilise the surface before applying a durable coating system.
The Solution
With guidance from a Prodec Sales Consultant, a structured, step-by-step approach was followed:
- The entire surface was sanded and cleaned to remove loose rust and contaminants.
- The fence was rinsed and allowed to dry completely.
- Two coats of Prodec Rust Converter were applied to stabilise the corroded areas and prevent further rust development.
- One full coat of Prodec Water-based Metal Primer Grey was applied to provide a uniform base, enhance adhesion and add additional rust protection.
- The system was finished with Prodec All Seasons Roof Coat in Anthracite, selected for its durability, flexibility and resistance to harsh weather conditions.
